At Celestial Windows, reliability has always been top of our priority list. When our owner, Alan Sewell, set up the business in 1997, his main aim was to provide the people of Teesside with a UPVC company they could trust. He wanted to provide a well manufactured, high security product that stood the test of time and he wanted to ensure our customers investment in their home improvements was protected. Between 1997 and 2002, we gave our customers a 10 year guarantee that we would return to their property to fix any issues they experienced after installation.

Even with products manufactured to a high standard and quality ancillaries used throughout the whole process, some installations can need attention after theyre completed. A window or door may need adjusting to work smoothly, a lock may need replacing, a unit may break down. We have always found customer to be very understanding of the fact that these things may occur, as long as we honour our agreement to put them right quickly and efficiently and more importantly, free of charge, for the decade we promised.

In 2002, the government introduced the FENSA scheme, and Celestial were one of the first UPVC manufacturers in the Teesside area to join the scheme. FENSA is a Government Authorised Competent Person Scheme for the replacement of windows and doors in England and Wales.

This self-assessment scheme was set up by the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF). The main function of the operation is to ensure double glazing companies comply with current Building Regulations when installing new windows and doors into your home.

A FENSA certificate covers you when you have replacement external windows and doors, against the relevant Building Regulations in domestic properties. It also confirms that your home is in compliance with Building Regulations,
confirms it’s registered with the Local Authority which is a legal requirement and provides proof of your home’s Energy Efficiency Certificate. It is an essential requirement when selling the property and verifies your installer’s guarantee is insurance backed.

As a FENSA approved installer, Celestial Windows LTD are assessed regularly by FENSA to ensure that the high standards and commitment to excellence are continually maintained. Also, as a FENSA approved installer we make sure all our installations comply with the latest Building Regulations as well as Energy Efficiency guidelines.

The FENSA Certificate verifies that your product warrant has an insurance backed guarantee, that the works have been carried out to a professional standard and you have the correct documentation available when it comes to selling your home.

Why We're Better Than Others..

Many companies will tell you as a consumer that you have a guarantee on your installation. This is generally around 10 years. However, unless your guarantee is “insurance backed”, your guarantee only stands as long as the company does. If we are being 100% transparent, we are fully aware the double glazing industry has struggled over the years with a reputation for not being reliable. Stories about how a company changes its name. or goes out of business soon after installation and not honouring the customers guarantee have regularly made the mainstream press.
